Over the past year at CGI Interactive, we’ve welcomed many new faces, had the privilege of working with some really great clients, and we’ve all worked together to deliver many meaningful and impactful design solutions. To celebrate the team’s success, we created CGI Day, a day where we take a break from the daily hustle and have some fun. Our first annual CGI Day was held on June 14th.
We kicked off the morning with coffee, Blackbird Doughnuts, and a team-building activity. The team-building challenge – which team could build the tallest block tower. Unique configurations counted for extra points and a curve ball came halfway through – our clients didn’t like green. Each group was divided based on role. The Account Managers acted as Builders and the Designers as Project Managers. The role reversals allowed for our team to understand the challenges their co-workers face each day and better understand how we can work together. The outcome – great communications is essential to great success.
After working together all morning, it was time to get our competitive juices flowing! The Apex Entertainment Center in Marlborough provided limitless options. We chose Mindtrek VR, go-kart racing, and bowling. To channel our inner champions, we took on personas of our favorite athletes. The virtual reality games allowed us to choose between fighting killer robots or entering a mystical world wearing Tiki dresses. Go-kart racing got competitive, “Gronk” took a strong lead and won the first heat.
The day wrapped up back at the CGI office, where we played lawn games and enjoyed some beverages. All in all, it was a great day. Everyone is already looking forward to CGI Day 2019 and all of the work and collaboration leading up to it.
